This time I have some more fan art for you. I haven't actually read a Tick comic that I can recall, but my good friend Steven loves em. I wanted to do something cool for his birthday because, frankly, I've been a bit of a dick lately. I'm horrible at returning phonecalls, and because I've been so busy lately I keep forgetting to hit this guy back. So Steve, if you read this, I love you man. And Happy Birfday.

Creepy Stuff!
Hey guys, I'm happy to say that I've got something new to show. I was recently commissioned to help a friend develop some Character Illustrations for his upcoming RPG offering. I'm having a lot of fun doing this kind of stuff, so I hope that I get more of this in the future. Please check it out, and lemme know what you think!
This guy is supposed to be about the size of a large dog. Really, really creepy, but I had an absolute blast drawing him.
This guy is supposed to be an enforcer of sorts, usually found with one or two of the Abstractions (hand guys) running around with him. He's got multiple faces, and arms, but no legs. It was awesome designing his costume, and I had a lot of fun with the jacket and hat.

Colors!
So colors have never been my strong suit, but I thought that I'd throw some down on this with some fasty-mcfastness.

Mesmo Delivery...
..is a great book. I had such a good time reading it, that I just had to do some fan art. I'm not aiming to ape Grampa's style, it just so happens that we draw, eh, somewhat alike already! If you guys haven't read this book, go pick it up right now. It's cheap, well drawn and a blast to read.

Shroom Samurai!

I had a blast drawing them, even if he thinks that they look like fat penises.
Is it "penises" or "peni" ? I think I like the sound of Peni better.
At any rate, I can't take credit for the cool scroll texture in the background, that was made by a lady on deviantart.com who calls herself ~Isthar-art.
I think it's mighty cool that she lets folks use her textures, so please swing by and take a look at her stuff too.

NIIIIIIIIINJA!!

So this is a dog, but not just any dog. Deep in silence, he waits for your toast. He clings to the ceiling, quiet, intense, longing for the sweet buttery goodness that YOU deny him. But it shall be his, Oh, yes, it shall be his..
I wish I could take credit for this awesome fat ninja design, but it was Heavily Heavily influenced by a post made by the Bountiful Brandon Graham on his LJ that depicted a pig ninja. It was so awesome, that I just had to redraw it.

Sketches!

The bottom left image is a card for a tarot deck I was considering making, it's supposed to be the 1 of wands, I think. And the last one is Spiderman, for a christmas swap that I participated in on this really great website called PencilJack.com
It's awesome for a large variety of reasons, but not the least of which is that it is a place for posting art and getting critiques. The community is about as great as one as I have ever seen on the Inter-Webs. Quite a lot of influential comic artists and writers got there start on those boards, so even if you're not an artist yourself it can still be a great way to get a sneak peek at what might be the future of comics!

The guy in the top left of the next group is another self portrait, shorter hair and less beard too! Then another D&D character on his right, and below that an undead rogue from the World of Warcraft. I pretty much just made up everything he's wearing because their design is redunkulous.

Um, some random characters, with a Tetsuo sketch thrown in for good measure.

More D&D stuff ( a sassy hound archon), a wizard who can see the benefit of carrying guns, a religibot, and an alien with a spiffy jacket.
Herro!
I'm hoping to turn this blog into a fun place for friends and family to keep up with what I'm working on, what I'm rambling about and what I'm drinking on a semi-regular basis. I think to start with, how about some sketches? Eh? Everyone loves those. I'll serve up a piping hot plate of those in my next post.
